When our Chairman, Eric H. Holder, Jr., took on the challenge of ending partisan gerrymandering in 2017, he knew he was in for a tough fight. But to be honest, the hurdles have been even steeper than anyone could have imagined.
For instance, the Supreme Court declined to review maps that had been challenged for partisan gerrymandering -- but that didn't stop us. Instead, the NDRC went state-by-state to fight map manipulation. This was a huge undertaking, but we were successful. We flipped governorships, took control of state legislatures, and passed bipartisan redistricting reforms across the country.
