Dear John,
After everything we’ve been through in 2020, our annual Thanksgiving tradition of reflecting and expressing our gratitude feels more important than ever.
As we approach the end of such a challenging year, I’m so thankful for the way that Texans have stepped up to help other Texans.
This year, educators, parents, state and local government employees, nonprofit staffers, community leaders, advocates, philanthropy, and others have faced some of the greatest professional challenges of their careers — month after month and month — at the same time that they’ve faced some of the greatest personal challenges of their lives.
But Texans still stepped up, and it’s made such a difference.
For example, this year we came together to stop state budget cuts to maternal health and Early Childhood Intervention, help services for kids pivot to the realities of COVID-19, shine a light on racial injustice, and lay the groundwork for a 2021 legislative session where we will fight for the urgent needs of Texas kids and families.
I’m so grateful for your partnership with us and for everything you’ve done to help Texans get through this difficult year. From the entire Texans Care for Children family to you and yours, we thank you.
I wish you a safe and restful Thanksgiving and look forward to continuing to partner with you during these challenging times.
Warmly,
Stephanie Rubin
