Russian hackers infiltrated the electoral systems of at least two counties here in Florida (and possibly more) and they were in a position to alter voter data. Experts even say they'll be back again in 2020.
Mitch McConnell is obstructing bills that are CRITICAL to securing our elections. These bills would:
- Increase sanctions on Russia for attacking our democracy in 2016
- Stipulate that states use paper ballots and hold post-election audits (just like we do in Florida)
- Require the FBI to publicly inform voters when foreign entities attack our elections
- And keep foreign countries and organizations from influencing our elections by prohibiting them from purchasing and airing political TV ads
