Dear John,
Next Tuesday, December 1, is Giving Tuesday. On this day we come together to show our commitment to fight for, and protect, the most marginalized in our community. That includes people living with HIV or AIDS.
Invest in our shared future, John, and donate $21 today so we can keep fighting for everyone in 2021.
This Giving Tuesday coincides with World AIDS Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of the HIV epidemic. Globally, there are an estimated 38 million people living with HIV. People living with HIV are more likely to experience poverty, hardship, and inequalities. Yet, stigma and discrimination remain a reality for people living with the condition.
Equality Federation’s HIV Advocacy Program has been working for years to leverage LGBTQ advocacy power in strong partnerships with the people and organizations who are doing critical on-the-ground work on HIV/AIDS.
Next week on Giving Tuesday/World AIDS Day, I am hosting a Facebook Live event with Vee Lamneck, Executive Director, and Andaiye McAndrew, Policy and Communications Coordinator, of Equality Virginia and our HIV Program Coordinator, Deirdre Johnson, to tell you about our work and the work of our members. Join us to learn more about what is being done to end the stigma, the criminalization, and the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Ending the epidemic is still possible, but only if we maintain focus and build capacity across the country. Donate now: https://eqfed.org/GivingTuesday2020
Together,
