As we close the book on the Trump administration, it’s important not to repeat the mistakes that made his administration such a disaster.
Remember: Donald Trump ran for President in 2016 on a promise to protect Social Security and Medicare. But once in office, he surrounded himself with Wall Street operatives who have been trying to cut Social Security and Medicare for decades. With the Biden administration on the way, it’s critical that he appoints a cabinet that will work for the people, not corporate America.

Economic advisers with a proven track record of challenging corporate power who we can trust to resurrect our economy, and address structural inequities including closing the racial wealth gap

Environmental advocates who are willing to address the climate crisis and who do not come from the fossil fuel industry

Leaders experienced in corporate accountability who will push back against the power that big corporations wield in our economy and democracy

Foreign policy and national security selections who will prioritize ending the endless wars and protecting human rights at home and abroad

Leaders who center the needs of Black, Indigenous, and women of color and adopt policies that will advance healthcare for all including reproductive health

Appointees who will protect a free and open Internet and protect our privacy from ever-expanding corporate and government surveillance practices
These decisions are being made right now, and Biden is already coming under pressure from Wall Street and conservatives to appoint corporate insiders and cave to McConnell's threatened obstruction. We need to show him and the Senate there's a better way.
