2020 is AQE’s 20th birthday. For twenty years, AQE has been committed to developing parents and community members to lead the charge in the fight for equity and justice in public education. AQE’s parent leaders and advocates have helped us fight for fully funded schools in the New York State budget; increase funding for community schools; build greater access to pre-kindergarten; reduce suspensions and advocate for restorative justice practices and revised codes of conduct; and much more.
The movement for public education and racial justice is facing unprecedented challenges, and AQE’s work is more critical than it has ever been before. With Executive Director Jasmine Gripper at the helm and a growing team, AQE will continue to fight on the front lines to make sure that students have access to the tools they need to succeed.
