NextGen Summit: Nov. 9, 2019, Springfield
Are you involved in family ministry? Join NextGen Ministries in Springfield for a one day conference that’s all about you! The NextGen Summit on Nov. 9th, will be a time for family ministers, both staff and volunteer, to come together to worship, learn and connect. There are over 12 workshop opportunities offered, on a variety of topics relevant to family ministry.
If you are coming from out of town and would like to reserve a hotel room, a block of rooms are reserved at VIB Springfield. To reserve a room for November 8, call 417-881-9100 and mention Next Generation or Methodist Conference to receive the discounted rate of $101.49. Bookings must be complete by October 11, 2019 to receive the special rate.
Exploration: Nov. 1-Nov. 3, 2019, Buena Vista, FL
Exploration is a three day discernment period in which young adults ages 18-26 are invited to explore God’s call to ordained ministry in their lives. This event takes place every other year and is hosted by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) of the United Methodist Church.
NextGen Academy Topic 2020
NextGen Academy is designed to raise up leaders. We invite the youth participants to share what they would like to learn at NextGen Academy 2020. We ask that only youth ages 13-18 respond to our survey. Please share this link with your youth group to help us select the most relevant topic for your youth!
Host an Ignite Mobile Camp
Even though it is just September, NextGen is already planning for the 2020 camp season. Mobile Camps are a tool used to ignite relationship between your church, and the families in your community. If you are interested in finding the right mobile camp for your area, fill out the 2020 Mobile Camp Application so that we can better serve your ministries. This application is used for all three brands of mobile camping offered to Missouri United Methodist churches Eagle Lake, Heartland, and NextGen (Missouri Conference-led). Each of these camps are similar, but there are slight variations in activity, camper capacity, volunteer involvement, and cost. If you fill out the application, either myself, or another member of the NextGen team will reach out to you for a follow up conversation in order to further discuss hosting a mobile camp in your community.

We are always looking for the best way to stay in touch and communicate upcoming events and new resources. Our team has recently started using Text In Church, as a way of communicating easily and effectively with those in Next Generational Ministries across the state. You can get connected by texting ‘nextgen’ to 573-260-5660 and fill out the information sheet. These texts go directly from and to our team members, so feel free to message questions to the Text In Church number!
Save the Date
Leap 2020: Feb. 29, 2019, St. Louis & Kansas City
Join us on leap day 2020 at either of the two locations, Kansas City or St. Louis, for a day of worship, service and fun! LEAP 2020 will be partnering with Rise Against Hunger to package meals as a service project. We hope to have youth from all over the state as well as some from neighboring conferences attend. There will be more information to come about possible connections with 30 Hour Famine and Lock-Ins with local churches!
