Welcome to A Maloney Minute — a monthly email newsletter that crams everything Carolyn’s been getting done into one quick, readable minute!

Here's what Carolyn has been up to recently:

Winning the NY-12 General Election:
Following her victory in the June Democratic primary, Carolyn secured her seat in Congress by defeating her Republican opponent in the general election. She’s honored to have the opportunity to represent New York’s 12th District for yet another term! Her margin in the race was so significant that the results were confirmed the night of Election Day. Carolyn is ready to continue delivering results for her constituents and for Americans across the country.

Demanding Accountability for Trump’s Crimes:
Despite efforts to evade justice and act above the law, President Trump must be held accountable for his illegal activity. And that’s exactly what Carolyn has been working hard in her Oversight Committee to ensure. As part of the latest series of investigations, Carolyn led her colleagues in calling on several federal agencies to preserve key documents that have been requested. Once Trump and his cronies leave office, it does not mean that their crimes will not follow them, and we can count on Carolyn to carry out these detailed investigations and uncover the truth.

Piloting NYCHA Repairs:
Carolyn joined a townhall with NYCHA residents and staff to roll out a pilot program for NYCHA repairs. Currently, there is one single office that covers all repair communications for NYCHA housing developments across the five boroughs. This has caused major delays and confusion when it comes to requests for critical repairs, including dangerous leaks, mold, and rodent infestations. But this new initiative that Carolyn introduced will streamline the work order process in several housing units in order to make these repairs more timely and efficient.

Championing her Smithsonian Women's History Museum Act:
The Senate Rules Committee took up their version of Carolyn’s Smithsonian Women’s History Museum Act. Carolyn has been working for years on creating a permanent physical space for us to honor the contributions of women to American society. This hearing marks the first time that this legislation, which already passed in the House with bipartisan support, was considered in a Senate committee. Carolyn hopes that this bill can be brought to the floor for a vote by the full Senate by the end of the year.
