Hey John,
Join us at our action to elevate the stories of the 46 million turkeys who are killed for Thanksgiving. Killing millions of animals for one holiday is not okay! Join us as we say #NoThanks to violence. This is an inclusive action—if you want to see every animal live happy, safe and free, we want you to come join us! The Protest for the 46 Million #NoThanks action is this Thursday, November 26th, 2020 at 11AM. We will be meeting at the UC Village Little League Ballfields in Albany, CA.

Here are the other events we have happening this week (all will be taking place in Pacific Time, unless otherwise noted).
- Tuesday, November 24th, 6 PM: Community Discussion: Anticolonialism - Thanksgiving is coming up soon; meanwhile, anticolonial efforts are seeing an unprecedented surge around the country. Join us in a community discussion around anticolonial efforts happening as we share our thoughts around the violent 'holiday' of Thanksgiving. From clouding the dark history of crimes committed against indigenous people, to celebrating the murder of millions of turkeys and other animals, there are extensive roots of colonization that extend from it. We will be having a meditation, acknowledging the native peoples, in particular the Ohlone land we live on and then reading a passage and having a discussion. Please see the event page details for the Zoom link.
- Thursday, November 26th, 5 PM: Unlearn "Thanksgiving": Video & Discussion - On "Thanksgiving" we will be taking time to learn about Indigenous resistance by watching videos about the Ohlone people and discussing the violent and painful history of the "holiday". It is important we educate ourselves and stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples as best we are able to. Many activists for animal liberation already oppose "Thanksgiving" because of the mass murder of 46 million turkeys every year to "celebrate" the date. But our advocacy cannot stop there, we must oppose the racist and anti-Inidgenous realities of "Thanksgiving" as well. Please see the event page details for the Zoom link.
- Friday, November 27th, 5 PM: Solidarity Speaker: Direct Action for Farmworkers - Direct Action for Farmworkers is a volunteer run collective providing humanitarian aid to farmworkers in the California agriculture fields. From the organizers: Our community working in the California agricultural fields is in need of our support. We are a group of community members who are gathering efforts to support farmworkers, with a focus on those who are undocumented. Farmworkers are putting their lives and their family's lives at risk during a pandemic all while wildfires are bursting throughout California. Please see the event page details for the Zoom link.
- Saturday, November 28th, 11 AM: Meetup: Stories from the Community - Everyone we meet has their own unique and incredible story and experience. While we are all united for animal liberation, we all have our own backgrounds and stories to share! Stories From The Community provides us a space for people in the DxE community to learn about and appreciate each other! We know you have a really fascinating pasts to share and we look forward to hearing them! For this Meetup we get to hear the stories of Paula and Alex Santurio! Please see the event page details for the Zoom link.
