While so much about the future is uncertain, it’s clear that four years of relentless attacks on our parks and public lands have left many of our most treasured places in need of immediate relief. We must start working right away to undo the damage that has been done to these special places.

NPCA has a plan already in motion to make that happen. But, as always, our ability to move our efforts forward and win the tough park-protection battles ahead depends on loyal members and supporters like you.

Here’s why your early #GivingTuesday donation is so important:

Right now, public lands surrounding parks are being auctioned for oil and gas drilling. Drastically weakened wildlife protections make it harder for the most vulnerable animals and plants in our country to survive. And commonsense safeguards against air and water pollution are still being weakened or rolled back.

But NPCA is fighting back with 101 years of experience in defending our parks. For example, we are working to make sure that the Great American Outdoors Act is fully and faithfully implemented, so that our public lands receive every dollar of maintenance and conservation funding they are due.

We are also fighting in court to stop the administration’s worst attacks on the parks, including its recent assault on the National Environmental Policy Act, which puts public lands and communities across the country at risk of dangerous, irresponsible development projects.

Even during this incredibly difficult year, we have shown that we know how to apply pressure and win key victories for the parks. And #GivingTuesday is a critical opportunity to make sure we will have the resources needed to keep up the fight in 2021.
