Experimenters have cut open the skulls of defenseless cats and attached electrodes to their brains.

In the months ahead, terrified cats may be snatched off the street, taken to a live-animal market, killed, and skinned.

Right now, a sick, neglected cat is languishing in the filthy home of a hoarder, denied proper food and veterinary care.

  • Stop crude, torturous experiments on cats and other animals: PETA's work to end all experiments on animals has achieved major victories for cats suffering in laboratories, including shutting down cruel and deadly experiments in which holes were drilled into their skulls. But we must do more for the cats who are still enduring mutilations, fear, and intentional torment. Your #GivingTuesday gift will help unlock an extra $12,000 to ramp up this work in 2021.   • Protect cats, dogs, and others from being barbarically slaughtered: Sensitive cats—just like those we share our lives with—are bashed on the head by workers who then slit their throats and strip their fur off so that it can be turned into a gaudy trinket or the trim on a pair of gloves. PETA's decades-long campaign to take down the deadly skins trade is making a real impact for cats and other animals as more and more fashion brands go cruelty-free, but we must do more until no animals are beaten and killed for their skin and fur.   • Rescue animals from neglect and cruelty: PETA's eyewitness investigations have revealed the heartbreaking conditions endured by cats trapped in filthy, severely crowded "rescues" that are little more than hoarding facilities. When our cruelty caseworkers learn of one of these hideous places, we do all that we can to get it shut down quickly and ensure that survivors receive the care they need.
