Dear John,
This year, our world has been consumed with news of a global pandemic, calls for racial justice, and, here in the U.S., deep levels of division.
Others may be preoccupied, but the Jewish people know that the issues we faced before 2020 will be with us long after. Indeed, global uncertainty has made these crises – like rising antisemitism – even more acute.
A recent AJC survey revealed that nearly nine in ten American Jews think that antisemitism in the U.S. is a problem, and eight in ten feel that it’s getting worse. But when asked, most of our non-Jewish peers don’t think Jew-hatred is rising at all. In fact, nearly half do not even know what antisemitism means.
The world doesn’t see what we see: Jews targeted just for being Jewish, whether it’s on the streets of Brooklyn, on college campuses, or in Israel.
It’s up to us to sound the alarm to protect our people.
AJC does just that. It’s the core of what we do. As an AJC leader, I see it every day.
With your support, AJC will continue to combat antisemitism, secure Israel’s place in the community of nations, and fight for the democratic values that we all share. |
AJC never rests. Not for a single minute. Because those who wish to harm Jews will take every opportunity afforded to them.
- When hate crimes occur, AJC helps to bring the perpetrators to justice. Whether through advocating legislation or engaging in education, AJC holds antisemites to account.
- When extremists step out of the shadows on the internet, AJC works with tech companies to crack down.
- When skeptics doubt what’s possible, AJC proves them wrong and makes new friends and allies for Israel.
- When bad actors try to tear at our social fabric, AJC builds lasting coalitions to move democratic societies forward.
#GivingTuesday, a day for us to support the organizations that matter to us, is just one week away. AJC is a part of my life because I know that it will always be there for me, my family, and Jewish communities worldwide. And it will be there for you too.
Join me in supporting AJC on #GivingTuesday, December 1. Or give right now! Starting today, a generous donor has offered to double any gift you make to AJC, up to $350,000.
And if you make your gift to AJC today, you’ll receive a special invitation to AJC’s year-end donor-exclusive virtual event, Sparks of Light 2020: Stories of Hope and Courage, taking place on December 21.
AJC will always be ready to protect the Jewish people. Will you join us? |
With appreciation,
Matthew Bronfman
