John, Here's a rundown of what my team and I have been up to
on the campaign trail! Take a look and some of our events this
September.
Dear John,
I wanted to write you a quick note about the stops we made on the
campaign trail over the last few weeks.
Here's a rundown of what my team and I have been up to (and links
to more pictures!):
Spoke to nearly 1,000 people at the South Carolina Republican
Party's annual Silver Elephant Dinner. We were honored to have my
good friend and the Palmetto State's own White House Chief of
Staff Mick Mulvaney give the keynote address.
Joined Congressman Jeff Duncan and conservatives from across the
Upstate for the Greenville County Republican Party's "Washington
Night" event broadcasted live on by 94.5 "The Answer!"
Visited with residents at a great community-building cookout in
Chapin hosted by SC Representative Nathan Ballentine.
Spoke at the Newberry County Republican Party BBQ dinner in
Newberry to a packed house.
Swung by the Charleston County Republican Women's luncheon where
I spoke to a group of fired-up women in Mount Pleasant.
Participated in a great discussion at the "Pints and Politics"
Q&A session hosted by The Post & Courier in Charleston.
Dropped by Wade's Restaurant in Spartanburg for a luncheon hosted
by the Spartanburg County Republican Party.
Sweated and chatted with over 250 people who braved the summer
heat and humidity for a Q&A event hosted by the Sun City
Republican Club and Lancaster County Republican Party in Indian
Land.
Enjoyed a wonderful evening in Rock Hill at a dinner hosted by
the York County GOP. They had a great crowd of more than 300
people, including Congressman Ralph Norman, who are fired up for
2020!
Ate peaches and pizza in Gaffney surrounded by energized
conservatives from across Cherokee County.
Joined Vice President Mike Pence and Governor Henry McMaster in
Anderson for the annual "Faith and Freedom BBQ" hosted by my
friend, Congressman Jeff Duncan! Over 3,000 patriotic and
energetic South Carolinians packed the arena and are ready
re-elect Trump-Pence in 2020!
Spoke to an overflow crowd at a luncheon hosted by the Aiken
Republican Club.
Talked politics and ate peanuts while watching the Columbia
Fireflies warm-up at Segra Park! Thanks to the Lexington County
and Richland County Republican Parties for hosting this great
event.
Marked the unofficial end to summer by walking in the Chapin
Labor Day Parade with dozens of my fellow members of Team Graham!
Spent some time hunting at a campaign dove shoot and enjoying
some wonderful BBQ in Orangeburg.
Spent a Friday night with an energized crowd of more than 300 in
North Myrtle Beach. Horry County is ready to continue their
historic success of delivering Republican victories!
Celebrated the remarkable growth of the Republican Party in the
Pee Dee with a breakfast hosted by the Florence County Republican
Party.
Cheered on my alma mater, the University of South Carolina, as
they took on the Alabama Crimson Tide. They weren't able to pull
off the upset, but Gamecock Nation did not disappoint during the
tailgate!
I enjoyed seeing a lot of old friends and meeting plenty of new
ones as I traveled around the Palmetto State.
I heard the same comments over and over: nominate more
conservative judges like Kavanaugh, support President Trump's
conservative agenda in Congress, support our men and women in the
military, secure our southern border, and unite voters across the
state so we can win re-election next year.
All I can say is, I got the message loud and clear!
If the last few weeks have proven anything to me, it's that
conservatives across South Carolina are fired up like never
before. Too much is at stake in America for us to let Democrats
fundamentally change our country.
That is why I will continue this aggressive travel schedule
across our state. If you want to help this effort, please chip
in $10 or more to pay for gas! This travel allows me to continue
the conversation with South Carolinians from every corner of our
great state and is one of the best parts of this job.
I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail very soon.
Sincerely,
Lindsey Graham
United States Senator
P.S. I'll be in Bluffton next week at a dinner hosted by the
Beaufort County Republican Party, so make plans to join us if
you're in the area!
