John,

I know this feels like the never-ending race. And like you, I would have loved to see final results by now. But, like I've said before, democracy is worth our patience.

Our nation was founded on the understanding that the people have the power to choose their leaders. And that principle still applies, even in times of inconvenience or anxiety. No matter what Donald Trump and other Republicans say or do to try to discredit our elections, we know that our country's elections are fair -- and we'll fight to keep them that way.

It's at the heart of who we are.

That being said, I have some exciting news -- we just might have a final count by tomorrow -- which is why it's more crucial than ever that we meet the $225,000 goal for our recount fund.

Will you rush a donation of $5 or anything you can so we can be prepared for the possibility of a recount?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

We're working hard to make sure voters are able to cure any ballots with signature issues -- and that's no easy undertaking. There's still many more left to be "cured," and it's important we reach out to these voters and ensure they are able to participate in this crucial election. With only 400 votes separating me from Mike Garcia -- we cannot take these efforts for granted.

Things are looking tight, and it takes a lot of money to keep our legal team working. But this moment requires every bit of resources we can muster, and we won't rest until every voter in our district is heard.

So, please help us out and donate $5, or whatever you can, as we continue to push for a free and fair election.

Each day, I think about our dedicated staff, teams of volunteers, and thousands of supporters -- and there's nothing I want more than to bring this home for all of you.

Take a moment. Breathe. And let's see what tomorrow brings us.

-- Christy
