This is huge news,
John.

The District Attorney who mishandled Ahmaud Arbery’s case and failed to
bring justice for Ahmaud’s family is now out of office.

Former District Attorney Jackie Johnson failed Ahmaud in every way
imaginable and actively helped keep two white supremacists out on the
streets. She stopped the police from making an arrest even when they
identified Ahmaud’s murderers. But this November, Ahmaud’s community rose
up to elect a new DA who campaigned on transparency, accountability, and
fixing injustice.

This is an incredible example of voters rising up at the ballot box to
enact change. More folks than ever agree that it’s time to radically
transform our justice system. If we can harness this enthusiasm across the
country, we can pass bold reform, district by district.



Real Justice is committed to helping more communities replace District
Attorneys perpetuating our current broken justice system with leaders who
will fight for accountability, take hate crimes seriously, and won’t try

don’t make drastic changes to our broken justice system.
