Friend, our Thanksgiving will be a smaller group than usual this year—just me, Erik and the kids joining our extended families via Zoom. I hope that you, too, can stay safe and sequestered as this pandemic surges into the winter months.

But I’m also thinking about folks all across our country who don’t have the luxury of riding this out behind closed doors—from our essential and front-line workers, to those doing critical work to save our democracy. Folks like the community organizers on the ground in Georgia.

My heart and gratitude go out to the Georgians giving their all to elect Jon Ossoff and Rev. Warnock, make sure Mitch loses his majority, and give President-elect Biden a Senate that will cooperate and put the American people first. These heroes should be resting and recuperating from a nightmare of a year, yet they’re masking up and pounding the pavement to register voters and boost turnout, putting their own health and well-being on the line—for all of us.

The key to ending this pandemic and seeing all of our families next Thanksgiving is, quite simply, winning these races. So let’s put all our force and support behind the heroes who are going to secure this win on January 5th.
