Dear AMP Community,

With so much focus on the power of elections to shape our future, for better or worse, we offer this reminder from Alexis de Veaux and Revered Gerard Williams, shared during the Writing New Worlds ([link removed][UNIQID]) plenary at AMC2020.

We are collectively holding our breath, but we are also breathing deeply into the futures we need and deserve. We know that despite all that has happened and all that may come, our communities, we who work towards liberation, are more powerful than ever.

We see you out here, making brave, beautiful plans for our collective futures. We see you sharpening your analysis and your strategies, being visionary and pragmatic at once, all while taking deep care of yourself and others. We honor the way you are moving, at whatever pace feels right, but nonetheless forward and undaunted, in these tumultuous times.

For us, this looks like slow and steady construction of our future home, the LOVE Building. More than just the physical space, we are constructing the relationships, the culture, and the values that we want this new space to embody. Read more and follow our progress at this newly launched page on our website ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

It also looks like deep planning and reflecting as we cocoon the Allied Media Conference once again in preparation for the next biennial conference-- in June 2022. The first step in our planning is learning from what happened this year. We have been processing all of the gems you gave us in the post-AMC reflection survey and have distilled some lessons that we will be carrying forward ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

We are grateful for the abundant resources and wisdom of our network, as we move into the future, breath by breath.
