Arlington Chamber Announces 2021 Public Policy Positions
The Arlington Chamber of Commerce recently released its policy position recommendations for 2021. The policy positions comprise two documents: one containing legislative priorities for the Virginia General Assembly’s 2021 session, and one focused on local issues within the purview of Arlington County’s government.
The Chamber’s top priorities for Arlington and Virginia's economic wellbeing include building and maintaining strong partnerships between government and the business community, with a disposition toward leading with “yes”, continuing to prioritize economic development for businesses of all sizes, and expanding efforts to increase housing opportunities. We also advocate for building a robust infrastructure including internet connectivity throughout the Commonwealth, supporting our workforce through education and training opportunities, and maintaining the longstanding policy framework which has made Virginia the best state in the nation in which to do business.

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements are part of the Pentagon’s mandate to protect industrial base networks and controlled unclassified information from cyber attacks. Posed to impact every company within the Defense Department’s supply chain—not just the defense industrial base—CMMC could affect as many as 300,000 contractors, including many small businesses in our area.
