How do YOU feel about masks?  This Dr. Seuss-styled rhyme summed it up well for me.

Well, guess what!

The Tarrant County mask mandate ends on Nov 30!!!!

Yay, right? Not so fast. Here's a quick primer...

1. Glen Whitley is our County Judge. This is not a judicial position. This is basically a mayor of a county. He leads the County Commissioners.
2. There are 4 County Commissioners. Tarrant is divided into four regions, and those commissioners are supposed to represent the people of that region to the County Judge. If you want Whitley to do or to not do something, your County Commissioner is 100% responsible to make that happen.
3. Glen Whitley has already declared that he wants to shut down more businesses and youth activities. He's mad because folks are not wearing masks outside and because bar owners worked their tails off to jump through hoops instead of shutting down like he wanted.
4. The Commissioner's Court meets Tuesday (tomorrow!!!) to decide if the mask mandate will be extended.
5. You as a citizen can and should make your wishes known!
6. You can contact your commissioner even if you do not attend the hearing! There are 2 numbers you can use to simply call and say you'd like to request that the mask mandate NOT be extended in Tarrant County. 817-884-1111 or 817-884-1195
7. Definitely contact the County Judge. You can call him at 817-884-1441, plus it's super easy to just send a message via an online form.
8. If you want to address the court and tell them you want the mask mandate to end, you have to turn in a form by noon TODAY. Form is here.

I sent a very simple message stating that I fully respect everyone's right to make their own choices to mask or not mask, to stay home or not stay home, and that it is not the government's responsibility to mandate it.

Not sure how you feel about masks?  Here's some info that was compiled and sent to me:

Regardless of how you feel about masking, we can all agree that the government must be held accountable by the people to only operate within their Constitutional boundaries.  Make sure your County Commissioner and County Judge know your name!

Thanks for being involved and paying attention!
