Contribute today to help us achieve Immigration Reform NOW!

John,

This month, millions of immigrants and people of color exercised their right to vote in a truly historic election. In New York, the NYIC played a crucial role in ensuring our communities' voices were heard. Our work to engage 1.5 million voters — many of whom voted for the first time — is just one example of how the NYIC builds immigrant power.

For four years, the Trump administration tried to eradicate the idea of America as a nation of immigrants. We've seen DACA rescinded, Dreamers denied protections in the only home they have known, children torn from families, and millions of immigrants — frontline workers — left out in the cold without any federal relief during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these destructive, cruel, and harmful policies, the NYIC has been there fighting for our immigrant neighbors and winning important victories. Your support makes this work possible. Together, we successfully restored access to driver's licenses for all New Yorkers, removed the citizenship question from the 2020 census, and won free COVID-19 testing, evaluation, and treatment for all low-income people in New York State, regardless of immigration status.

Now, the NYIC is calling for ambitious immigration reform to empower and protect immigrants across New York State and the country. In 2021, we will:

  • Work with national partners and Members of Congress to provide a pathway to citizenship for 11 million people and protect our communities from reckless immigration enforcement;
  • Support the push for immediate executive action, including "Day 1" executive orders from the Biden administration to reinstate DACA and repeal the Muslim ban; and
  • Ensure that essential workers and small immigrant-owned businesses continue to receive the relief they need and have the resilience to move forward.
At this major turning point of newfound hope, we invite you to join us in working to build a state and country where everyone is allowed to thrive. Your gift is crucial.
On behalf of immigrant New Yorkers, we thank you for your generosity and for standing with us. Together we can and will achieve real immigration reform and build a country that values and welcomes immigrants and their contributions.

In Unity,

Murad Awawdeh and Rovika Rajkishun
Interim Co-Executive Directors
