*The starting salary for the Level 1 positions is 18,426, rising to 18,795 on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers). This equates to 9.81/hour.*

*Care Worker L1 shifts will be worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm according to a rota, and this will include weekends. *

*The Peripatetic Care Worker L1 post includes working on a rota, including weekends and will include working waking nights as required*

*Job Purpose*

The Oaks is a modern residential unit in St. Anns for elderly citizens with a range of needs, including dementia. Citizens may be either short term or longer term residents, depending on their identified needs and circumstances.

Care Workers at Level 1 implement Care Plans and report any concerns or reasons care plans cannot be followed, as well as monitoring care and welfare of citizens, recording accurate information on running records, communication books, care plans monitoring charts (e.g. weight monitoring, falls, etc.) and other written and electronic communications as required.

Care Workers at Level 1 are also expected to work and cooperate with other professionals, as well as citizens and their meaningful others, to ensure a shared approach to care and support and continuity of care and treatment.





*ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:*


* Implementation of Care Plans and contribution to running records and daily monitoring forms;
* Ability to encourage and support citizens to achieve and/or maintain maximum independence, and to maintain contact with friends, family and community;
* Knowledge and understanding of the rights, needs and feelings of vulnerable adults from diverse social and cultural backgrounds;
* Ability to follow all instructions, policies, procedures and guidelines.

The starting salary is 29,577 (Level One) rising to 31,346 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers). * *
These roles are also open to NQSWs, who will start the role on a salary of 25,991. * *

Team Information*
The City Safeguarding team are a crucial and fast paced team who work with adults and older people who are at risk and are experiencing adult abuse. The team work within the Care Act to ensure that appropriate support and interventions are in place. Making Safeguarding Personal is a key element in this role to ensure that the persons outcomes are considered and this is balanced with risk. Multi-agency working is also essential in supporting the vulnerable person in protection planning and minimising risk.
The Placement Review Team is responsible for reviewing the ongoing care needs and placements of citizens who are placed in residential and nursing homes. This may be a regular annual review, or it may be an unplanned review if new concerns are raised or other circumstances change. Placement Review Team members may also be involved in the Home Closure process in partnership with ASQA. * * *All Social Workers* * * Nottingham City Council Adult Social Care offers a robust ASYE programme for newly qualified Social Workers, and other various development programmes for all Social Workers, such as AMHP qualifications and Practice Educator status.
