Dear John,
Growing up in the South Bronx, I always knew that some people have to fight harder to get ahead. Beginning in my time as a community activist and continuing in my time as a Congressional staffer, I’ve consistently watched people battle systems designed to keep them down. I’ve decided to work in government because I know the future of our country relies on good people stepping up to do the right thing.
This is also why I am doing everything I can to help Lindsey get to Congress, but I can’t do it alone. Will you chip in $5 today before our September 30th deadline? ([link removed])
As a young woman, I know that the cost of doing nothing is more than any of us can bear. Complacency has allowed every issue to grow into a crisis while our elected officials sit idly by. I’m proud to stand with Lindsey and say: enough is enough. New York deserves leaders who will stop the benign neglect and champion the bold solutions we all need. We deserve new, visionary leadership that will fight for our future, and we deserve it now.
She’s already making an impact and taking our leadership to task over their failures. The DailyBeast recently quoted her saying, “‘Without my challenge, I have no doubt in my mind he [Nadler] wouldn't be aggressively acting the way he is,’ said Boylan in a recent interview. ‘But it's not enough.’” ^1
Lindsey continues to push Democratic leadership to take further action. Just imagine what she’ll be able to accomplish once she’s actually in Congress.

Across the country we have talented, new leaders stepping up to tackle some of our biggest problems, and Lindsey is one of the most promising voices in that landscape. I am inspired by her plans to address big issues like income inequality, healthcare, and gun violence, but I am most moved by her commitment to standing up for what is right.
As a friend, I know Lindsey has always uplifted the voices of others and I am glad to see her bring that fight where we need it most. That’s why I’m supporting her and I hope you will too.

We have a chance to elect a new voice for this district and while the vote isn’t until June, there’s so much we can do now to make it happen. Let’s get to work.
Sincerely,
Amanda
