Content Warning: This email discusses police violence.

John, we’re angry.

Kyle Rittenhouse, age 17, was just released on a 2 million dollar bail and is being encouraged to run for Congress. Rittenhouse shot and killed two people in Kenosha, WI who were protesting George Floyd’s murder. Despite murdering two people, Rittenhouse was taken into custody unharmed.

Just nine days ago, A.J. Crooms, age 16, and Sincere Pierce, age 18, — two Black teenagers — were gunned down by a police officer in Brevard County, Florida because the officers thought the car was possibly stolen.

These two instances of violence — one act perpetrated by a white teenager and another perpetrated against two Black teenagers by police officers — illustrate how our justice system operates differently for people of privilege.

Justice Democrats is committed to fighting for racial justice and helping to provide support to the movement whenever we can. Today, we’re asking if you can afford to make a $3 contribution to help pay for Sincere Pierce’s funeral expenses as the family fights for accountability from the police officers who murdered Sincere.

If you can’t afford to donate right now, that’s alright. But if you can, please help Cynthia Green pay for funeral expenses for her son. Any amount will make a difference.

Thank you for being a part of our movement. We must unequivocally declare that Black Lives Matter and support organizations and people who are working to end police brutality.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
