John,

An unprecedented 636,000 Connecticut voters utilized absentee mail-in ballots in November's election, which helped ensure the safety of all voters during this pandemic.

Now it's time to determine if Connecticut will keep no-excuse absentee voting for good, and whether or not our state should join the 44 other states that allow early voting.

What do you think, John? Should Connecticut implement early voting and permanently adopt no-excuse absentee voting? Take our quick survey to let us know your thoughts:

Along with U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, Connecticut Secretary of State Denise Merrill is lobbying state legislators on the need for early voting and expanded access to mail-in ballots.

As Secretary Merrill said at a press conference last week, "Now that voters have been able to vote by absentee ballot if they choose, it is manifestly unfair to tell them they cannot vote the way they wish in the future."

Permanently implementing early voting and no-excuse mail-in voting would require a constitutional amendment to be approved by the Connecticut House and Senate in a two-thirds vote, PLUS the support of a majority of state voters through a ballot initiative.

That's why we want to hear from you -- do you think Connecticut should join the majority of the rest of the country in permanently allowing early voting and no-excuse absentee voting?
