Winning in Georgia is the only way Democrats can take back the Senate. And right now, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are in a dead heat against their Republican opponents.
We CAN win, flip the Senate, and end Mitch McConnell's stranglehold on the Senate. But the GOP isn't going to give up in Georgia without a fight; that's why it's essential that we fight back on all fronts, especially when it comes down to voter suppression.
Thankfully, local grassroots organizations like Fair Fight Action and the New Georgia Project — both founded by Stacey Abrams — were built for this. They registered over 800,000 new voters in Georgia ahead of the general election and drove historic turnout rates across the state.
If — and only if — both Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff win, the Senate will be pulled to a 50-50 tie. But with Vice President-elect Kamala Harris casting the tie-breaking vote, Democrats will have de facto control over the chamber.
This is a huge opportunity to realize all our progressive priorities like additional COVID relief, criminal justice reform, addressing climate change, and much more.
That's why we have to do everything we can to make sure both organizations have the resources to reach out to everyone they possibly can before the voter registration deadline on December 7th.
