Hi friend --

As bitter payback for losing the election, Trump is doing everything he can to obstruct and delay the transition of power to Joe Biden and his team in the White House.

While Trump’s tantrums might appear inconsequential, Democratic senators warn that “a messy transition is especially dangerous this year, given the state of the pandemic and the number of simmering crises around the world that have been mishandled by Trump” -- not to mention history proves adversaries take advantage of our country during transitions.

In fact, a 9/11 Commission Report found that George W. Bush’s delayed transition as a result of the contested 2000 election “delayed his national security team and was a contributing factor to the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.”

Trump’s break from democratic tradition is not only pitiful, it’s dangerous. Sen. Chris Murphy has said that while “Trump is always distracted … there’s now also the possibility of having a fractured or inexperienced or incomplete national security team to deal with a crisis.” We’ve always known that Trump doesn’t care about serving the American people, but it’s about time that we demand this sore loser accepts defeat and finally acts like a president.

Friend, we don’t have time to waste. Every day that passes without a peaceful transition increases the danger our country is in -- but we’ve simply depleted our funds fighting against Trump’s relentless attacks on our democracy, and we need your help.

 

Trump has continuously stated he won’t relinquish his power, but it’s not up to him -- it’s up to us. Will you give what you can now to send Trump and his whole team packing and ensure that Joe Biden’s transition team has the resources it needs to hit the ground running in January?
