In the U.S., low-income pregnant women may face various challenges in accessing healthcare and adequate nutrition. Poverty can translate to trouble obtaining health insurance or even getting transportation to appointments. Food insecurity often co-occurs with poverty, making it harder for pregnant women to get a quality diet and purchase things like prenatal vitamins and minerals. Vitamin Angels distributes prenatal vitamins and minerals free of charge to underserved pregnant women in all 50 U.S. states through a network of 350+ program partners.
