Help Farm Sanctuary meet our Giving Day goal!
|
Dear John,
October 2 is World Farm Animals Day—and Farm Sanctuary needs your help to make it the biggest day of the year for the nearly 1,000 unique and amazing animals who call our shelters home!
We are celebrating this special occasion by kicking off our third annual Giving Day campaign. Last year, kindhearted friends of Farm Sanctuary like you helped us raise enough money to provide 100,000 nutritious meals for our shelter residents.
Inspired by that wonderful show of compassion, we have set an even bigger goal this Giving Day of securing the funds to provide 200,000 meals! This will allow us to fill the bellies of our cows, chickens, ducks, sheep, pigs, goats, and other animals; rescue and take in more abused and abandoned animals; and continue speaking out against farm animal cruelty.
John, you don’t have to wait until October 2 to give us a head start toward our goal. Join Farm Sanctuary with a generous Giving Day gift today to help us keep our rescued farm animal residents safe, warm, and well-fed!
You might be surprised to hear how far your support can go. Your Giving Day contribution of any size can feed multiple animals for an entire month:
- $23 can provide a month’s worth of food for three chickens.
- $47 will feed six turkeys at our Southern California Shelter for an entire month.
- $55 can feed two pigs at our New York Shelter, while $110 can feed four!

Every meal you provide will support our work for precious farm animals like Seymour, Farm Sanctuary’s first-ever water buffalo rescue!
As a male calf born onto a water buffalo dairy farm, Seymour was considered worthless because he couldn’t produce milk—or profit. Most of these unwanted animals are discarded, neglected, or sold at auction and sent to the slaughterhouse. But Seymour was lucky—he found a guardian who loved him and wanted to protect this sweet animal from harm.
Recently, his guardian called Farm Sanctuary and asked if we could give Seymour a home. And compassionate friends like you allowed us to say “yes” without hesitation and give Seymour a chance to live and thrive.
While providing care for a water buffalo was new to us, our caregivers eagerly rose to the occasion. We loved watching him happily roam our green pastures. And, thanks to caring friends like you, we recently found him the perfect forever home—a wonderful sanctuary in Florida—where he will get to live out the rest of his life in peace, comfort, and safety.
By making your Giving Day donation today, you will help us give more rescued farm animals the same chance at a better life.

While we found Seymour a forever home, many of the animals we rescue will spend their entire lives at Farm Sanctuary—and will eat thousands of meals.
That’s why Farm Sanctuary’s 2019 Giving Day campaign is so important. Raising enough money to provide 200,000 meals is an ambitious goal, but when friends like you pull together around our shared commitment to farm animals like Seymour, we can do amazing things!
Please make sure we reach our goal of providing 200,000 meals for our animal residents—join Farm Sanctuary with a special Giving Day gift today!
Your kindhearted contribution will help ensure that the beloved animals at our shelters—so many of whom experienced hunger and neglect before coming to Farm Sanctuary—will never again feel the pain and fear of an empty belly. Thank you so much!

P.S. America’s farming industries treat animals like Seymour as mere commodities—not the unique individuals you and I know them to be. Therefore, in addition to making your Giving Day gift today, I hope you will also consider inviting your friends and family over for a humane, plant-based meal to show that our food does not have to come with a side of animal suffering.
