Progressives are pushing Joe Biden to appoint Senator Elizabeth Warren as the next Treasury secretary, citing Warren's proven track record of wrangling with financial institutions and keeping Big Banks accountable to the American people.

If Biden appoints our liberal hero, Senator Warren would become the first woman to ever lead the Department of the Treasury -- but most importantly, we'd know we have someone who values working Americans leading our economic recovery efforts.

We can't think of a better Treasury secretary candidate than a woman who has spent her career defending American consumer interests and keeping big corporations accountable to the law.

But Biden's team has already confirmed it is eyeing other candidates that would better appease Biden's centrist base, including a former venture capitalist and other Wall-Street friendly former executives.
