There's an ordinance before the council to ban flavored e-cigs. Tell your council member you support it.

ACTION ALERT

John,

The D.C. Council is considering an ordinance to end the sale of flavored e-cigarettes.

This policy is badly needed. Just-released CDC data shows the youth e-cigarette epidemic is getting worse. Now, 5 million kids – including 1/4 high school students – are using e-cigs. An overwhelming majority of them say flavors are why.

The evidence is clear that flavors are fueling the youth e-cigarette epidemic: 97% of youth e-cigarette users report using a flavored product in the past month, and 70% cite flavors as the reason for their use.

We can stop this in D.C.

But we must make sure the final ordinance ends the sale of all flavored tobacco products. This includes menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars, which the tobacco industry uses to target and addict youth, especially in minority communities.

Tell the D.C. Council to protect kids by ending the sale of ALL flavored tobacco products now.

Sincerely,

Amy Barkley
