I’m still filled with joy whenever I think about how we won the presidential election, and that in January 2021, the first South Asian woman vice president will be sworn into office. We did that. The winds of change are blowing, whether Trump wants to acknowledge them on Twitter or not. 

Voters like you overwhelmingly cast their ballots for new leaders in the White House who will protect the health and safety of Americans across the country and work to build back a better democracy.

But our work still continues. With Georgia's Senate runoffs slated for January 5th, we have a chance to elect two representatives who would not only be advocates for the change Georgians need, but whose election could also flip the Senate and end Mitch McConnell’s reign over the chamber. The next few weeks are crucial to electing Georgia Senate candidates Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff and securing a Congress that can help the Biden-Harris Administration move this country forward.

The national election was won by slim margins in key states, especially in Georgia. Writing letters is one of the most effective ways to make sure people in the Peach State vote in this critical race. I know -- and test after test has proven -- that a personal touch can make the difference. Your words can give Georgians the encouragement to register, request their mail-in ballots, then get out the vote. 

What should you say in your letter? You could talk about how voting is our most important civic duty, the pressing need to elect leaders who will effectively combat the COVID-19 crisis, fight for the federal resources that Georgia and other states need to survive and recover from it, and expand healthcare access -- or any other issue that’s close to your heart.
