Ro stood outside the DNC with the Sunrise Movement, progressive leaders
like AOC, Ilhan Omar, and Ed Markey, in addition to new members to our
coalition like Cori Bush, Mondaire Jones, and Jamaal Bowman to demand
action on climate change.

Ro stood with these members to speak about how a climate policy is not
just for the protection of our planet, but for the economy and job growth.
While Ro and his allies are working in Washington to push for a Green New
Deal, it’s up to us to keep up this movement on the ground.

Our new Congress has more progressive voices than ever and we have to use
that to our advantage. Together, we can grow our momentum and show more
people than ever why a Green New Deal is about even more than protecting
our environment.

Like Ro said yesterday, “a Green New Deal is a policy to put the working
class back to work to create good paying jobs and to create jobs in the
parts of the country that need those jobs the most.”

We need to demand an office of climate mobilization. We need to demand a
climate policy as an economic policy. We need to demand a Green New Deal —
but the only way we can get that done is by growing our grassroots
movement.
