In 2019, we
won an appeals-court case against the Trump FCC after the agency gutted
its local ownership rules to pave the way for even more media
consolidation.
Now we’re going to the Supreme Court to fight this battle all over again.
And with the court’s new conservative supermajority, we’re going to need
all the help we can get.

media ownership — and to stop the FCC from doing all the damage it can in
the Trump presidency’s final days.
Thank you so much,
Jessica

The FCC and broadcast lobby submitted their briefs this week — and we’re doing everything we can to make sure we’re prepared to fight back.
Please donate now to help Free Press fight the Trump FCC’s attempt to restrict media-ownership opportunities for women and people of color.

The Trump administration is on its way out, but the FCC is determined to serve the right-wing Sinclair Broadcast Group and other mammoth media conglomerates as long as it can.
The FCC has an obligation to promote a diversity of voices, but under Trump has acted as an arm of the broadcast lobby. It’s pushed through racist and sexist deregulatory policies that have made it harder for women and people of color to own TV and radio stations. As a result, a handful of giant corporations and ownership groups largely controlled by white men wields unbelievable power over the airwaves.
We have pushed back — and won — against the FCC’s attempts to suppress diversity.[1] But with the Supreme Court’s new conservative supermajority we need all the help we can get. Please donate now!

Representation matters. And with a media landscape rife with hate and disinformation, we need more diverse voices and less control by the privileged few.
Trump’s FCC is attempting to do as much damage as it can before the Biden administration takes office. But Free Press is here to stop this destruction: Please donate now to make sure we have the resources we need to fight — and win — in the Supreme Court.
Thank you for supporting this fight,
