Coronavirus numbers, Senate relief package, and a key election coming up. Here are three things to know today.

Sanford Bishop for Congress

Dear John,

I want to share some updates with you from Georgia and across the country. Here are three things you need to know:

  1. The coronavirus has caused 250,000 American deaths. In Georgia, the infection rate is rising each week. These distressing milestones reflect trends that we must reverse immediately. I urge everybody to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and increase caution as we move into the holiday season.
  2. The United States Senate has adjourned for Thanksgiving break with no movement on Covid-19 relief. While the House of Representatives passed its comprehensive economic package months ago, Senate Republicans and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have refused to collaborate for the wellbeing of millions of American families.
  3. In order to end this political gridlock and make real change under the upcoming Biden-Harris administration, we must win a Senate majority. Our great state of Georgia is blessed with the tie-breaking vote in the form of Senate runoff elections on January 5, 2021. I encourage you to support Rev. Dr. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, request a mail-in ballot, and get involved in this crucial final leg of the election.

Thank you for reading my newsletters and for your continued support. Please visit my website for more updates. Stay well, enjoy your weekend, and know that I am working hard for you.

Sincerely,

Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr.
