John,

Jim was at Lucy Webb Elementary School in Greenville, MS yesterday to unveil his plan to improve public education in Mississippi.

Jim believes that one of the single most important roles of government is to provide a quality public education system. Unfortunately, state leaders like Tate Reeves have neglected our public schools and educators in Mississippi to fund massive tax giveaways for their out-of-state corporate campaign contributors. Under Tate Reeves’ leadership, Mississippi public schools have NEVER been fully funded.

We should not cheat our students out of a quality education by failing to provide the resources necessary for success. As governor, Jim will support fully funding our public schools. Chip in now if you’re ready for a governor committed to our students and schools, not special interests.

As governor, Jim will be committed to:
- Fully funding our public schools
- Implementing a statewide pre-kindergarten program
- Combating the critical teacher shortage
- Increasing our average teacher pay to match the Southeastern average

This election is critical to Mississippi’s future. Under Tate Reeves, children in Mississippi public schools have been shortchanged by nearly $2 billion. The Mississippi Department of Education estimates the teacher shortage crisis is about six times worse today than it was in 1997 when the Legislature passed the Critical Teacher Shortage Act. Mississippi’s teachers earn the lowest average wage of all states in the union.

That is unacceptable.

To move our state forward, Jim understands that we must provide adequate resources for every child to receive a quality public education. The future of our state depends on it. Will you chip in now to support Jim’s vision for education?
