We have a really important project that you can be a part of. We are committing to register 37,000 voters in one of the most critical battleground districts in the country. This district is changing — and fast. Houston and Austin are among the fastest growing cities in the country. When the Republicans gerrymandered the Texas 10th, they had no idea it would look like this today. The GOP is scared. They have pledged $10 million to increase Republican turnout — we need to fight back.
Last election, we registered nearly 9,000 voters. Our voter registration and turnout efforts helped elect Democrats in two Texas House races. This work is how we change the game here in Texas. Texas is not a red state — Texas is a non-voting state. This is how we change that. When we register these 37,000 targets, we will be able to hold those two Texas House seats, elect Democrats in city and county elections, and help the Senate and presidential nominees compete statewide. And of course, most directly, we can send Rep. McCaul to an early retirement.
