It should come as no surprise, but when we choose joy, the occupant of the White House chooses racism.

This morning, Trump attacked my friend, Ilhan Omar, on Twitter.

Thing is, I was with Ilhan the night that video was taken. It was Friday, September 13th. We were celebrating Congressional Black Caucus week and our sisters in service by dancing to Lizzo.

Once again, Donald Trump is deliberately spreading Islamophobic lies to stoke fear and hatred because he is terrified of our movement’s power. Our Squad is fighting tirelessly to make real progress for all Americans and, yes, to find some joy in the face of the cruelty and inhumanity coming from this Administration.
