Dear Friend,
Sam Randazzo has resigned from his position as chairman of
the Ohio Public Utilities Commission following reports that FirstEnergy paid $4 million to his
company.
While not named in the report, the energy company says the fee was
paid to “an entity associated with an individual who
subsequently was appointed to a full-time role as an Ohio government
official directly involved” in regulating FirstEnergy.
The resignation wraps up a tumultuous week, beginning
with an FBI raid of Randazzo’s
home Monday morning. Randazzo's departure
adds to mounting evidence of government corruption related to
FirstEnergy's coal and nuclear bailout.
It's great news for Ohio, but we must keep the momentum
going
Ohio Consumers Power Alliance launched a campaign encouraging
Ohioans to speak out against Sam Randazzo and 1,500
people like you wrote to Governor DeWine asking for Randazzo to be
replaced.
Look what we can accomplish
together.
Now we must
turn our full attention
to a total and immediate repeal
of HB 6
FirstEnergy’s $4million payment is evidence of even more
expansive corruption than we knew, and even greater reason for the
legislature to repeal all of HB 6 and start over. It’s
all tainted, so a full and immediate repeal is the only acceptable
outcome.
We will do our part to get you the information you need to
hold decision makers like Randazzo accountable. Please do your part to support our
citizen-funded campaigns.
Thank you!

p.s. Please tell your legislator to fully repeal HB6 NOW. Even if you sent a
message weeks or months ago, send another one! We're working to get
action on a repeal before the end of the year, and your legislators
need to hear from you.
