- Team Brownsville: five Texas educators who saw the hardships and indignities endured by asylum seekers just across the border from their hometown of Brownsville, Texas and were moved to act.
- Joy Buolamwini: an MIT computer scientist, poet and activist who explores how algorithmic bias in machine learning and artificial intelligence creates inequalities in the justice system and all aspects of modern life.
- Bellen Woodard: a nine-year-old Virginian who wondered why the “skin-colored” crayon had to mean “peach,” and challenged her peers with perception-changing conversations.
