Run for Something

Hi there --

When people ask me how they're supposed to stay optimistic even as the news gets worse and worse, I give them one piece of advice: Talk to voters.

According to NPR, talking to a stranger "can affect feelings of happiness and human connection on a typical day." What better way to have those conversations -- that might seem a little stressful to those of us who aren't extroverts -- than by talking to progressives about how we can elect Democrats to as many elected offices across the country as possible?

If you're up to the task, we've got just the opportunity for you: Sign up to Volunteer for Something. We've got plenty of in-person and from-home opportunities to directly help candidates right now. And those one-on-one personal conversations that NPR thinks will brighten your day are exactly what makes the difference in these smaller campaigns.

Don't worry about getting started, either: whether this is your first time volunteering for a political campaign or you’re a seasoned pro, training is provided for all opportunities. Just let us know you'd like to help, and we'll connect you to a campaign that needs all hands on deck, like Amanda Pohl or Phil Hernandez in Virginia.

Thanks!
