You may have thought that the 2020 elections were over a while ago, but here in CA-25, we're doing whatever it takes to make sure the voters' voices are heard.

That's why ballots in LA county had until today to arrive through the mail -- our officials refused to risk someone's vote not counting because of delays from the Postal Service or due to the pandemic.

Since our election is taking so long, we've had to find resources for expenses we didn't plan on -- from extra field efforts to help thousands of voters "cure" their ballots to a new team of lawyers. And we'll need to keep it up until the last votes are counted and, if necessary, a recount has taken place.

Having an extended arrival window for ballots is absolutely the right decision by California's election officials. Everyone who voted by Election Day deserves to have their ballot counted. But it also means that the CA-25 House election isn't decided yet, and since our race is still so close, it might not be for weeks.

The count in CA-25 won't be over until the end of this month at the earliest. And then we learn whether or not we're headed to a recount.

We have to be ready and able to fight for every voter's voice to be heard until the recount is through, and we can't do it if we don't have the funds we need. We're still $91,658 short of our increased recount fund goal, but I know our amazing supporters will step up -- just like you have every time I've asked.
