WHY WOMEN WILL SHAPE THE AMERICAN RECOVERY [[link removed]]
In the early days of the pandemic, it was clear that women serving in office would be among the strongest leaders to help lead our country through the crisis. Women at all levels of government stepped up, taking early and life-saving actions that would set the pace for policy nationwide. Our nation would also see another crisis reach its peak during this time - racial injustice - and in response, women in office began leading the charge for change by amplifying calls for police accountability and criminal justice reform. This discussion will focus on how these women have taken innovative approaches to policy and what they see as the next steps for a recovery that includes every single American.
REACHING AND CONNECTING WITH VOTERS THROUGH CRISIS [[link removed]]
The 2020 election was already marked as the most important election of our lifetimes but no one could anticipate how great a challenge the global pandemic would pose for candidates on the campaign trail. Up and down the ballot, candidates had to quickly adapt their campaigns, cease door-knocking operations and reach voters wherever they could online. Nonetheless, in the most unusual election year in modern history, many candidates, including women, used innovative tactics to connect with voters. Through online tools, social media and ads they designed campaigns that built enthusiasm and gave voters an opportunity to connect. This discussion will feature women who ran for office during the 2020 election and who will share their insight on how to simulate connection and movement online.
