This week, I continued to callout so-called "leaders" who continue to push for misguided lockdowns in response to COVID. I also expressed concerns about radical Democrat policies that are being promoted in Congress and highlighted more positive news on the vaccine front.
Please reach out to my offices if you have a concern, want to hear what we’re working on in
Congress, or are having trouble with a federal agency. I have a full team in Texas and in the
nation's capital ready to assist you. Be sure to stay up to date by following me
on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
Now, let's catch up.
no new lockdowns
Say it with me: No more lockdowns.
The science and reasoning are clear that the extreme costs on livelihoods and the economy are not worth the minimal benefits. A new study released this week found that less costly pandemic mitigation measures slowed the spread of the coronavirus just as well as – if not better than - full scale economic lockdowns.
State and local officials need to stop this careless policy making.
We received additional good news in the race toward a COVID-19 vaccine this week. After Pfizer’s vaccine progress last week, Moderna also released data that showed its vaccine was 94.5% effective and it hopes to apply for emergency use authorization in “the coming weeks.”
This is thanks to the world-class medical innovators we have here in the America and, yes, Operation Warp Speed. The Trump Administration is ready to distribute the vaccine widely and freely to Americans as soon as a vaccine is approved.
Democrats are playing a dangerous game with the socialist wing of their party. Nancy Pelosi has allowed dangerous proposals like Medicare for All and the Green New Deal and defunding the police to creep into the mainstream of their party.
These policies would fundamentally destroy our health care system, or energy independence and economy, and the safety of our communities. And now radical Democrats have a larger influence in Congress and will be pushing Democrat leaders to move forward with those polices.
