McConnell's priorities are backwards

COVID-19 Update

Earlier this week, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell adjourned the Senate through the end of the month.

Before adjourning, McConnell didn’t pass urgently needed COVID-19 relief legislation, but he did manage to confirm five of President Trump’s extreme judicial nominees in a matter of two days.

McConnell’s priorities are backwards.

Will you add your name to mine and demand McConnell and Senate Republicans stop stalling and pass COVID-19 relief ASAP?

As former Baltimore County Executive, I know from experience that state and local governments are on the frontline of this pandemic. If the federal government doesn’t step in soon to provide critical resources and support, jobs will be lost and important services will be cut.

It’s been six months since my colleagues in the House and I passed a COVID-19 relief package that would:

  • Bolster COVID-19 testing, contact tracing, and treatment
  • Provide another round of stimulus payments and put money directly in Americans’ pockets
  • Extend the payroll support program and extend $600/week enhanced unemployment benefits
  • Improve PPP loans and provide more support for small businesses
  • Provide funding and resources for education, childcare, housing assistance, and food security

The Senate must take action to get our country and our economy back on track. If you agree, please add your name and call on Senate Republicans to take urgent action on COVID-19 legislation.
