Dear John,

Just last month, one of our investigators went undercover in one of Manchester's biggest pet shops.

And what they found was truly heartbreaking ([link removed]) .

Six marmoset monkeys were confined to two tiny cages. Their fate... either to breed offspring for the pet industry or be sold on to private collectors themselves.

Despite the Conservatives having pledged to ban primates as pets in their 2019 election campaign, the practice is still sadly legal. It is estimated that up to a staggering 9,000 primates are currently held captive as pets throughout the UK.

These monkeys shouldn't be here. Please make a donation today to help us shine a light on this cruel industry and push for a ban ([link removed]) .

Zac Goldsmith recently said that the government is "taking steps to ban primates as pets." But a ban can't come soon enough. As our shocking investigation shows, we need action not words.

For the animals,

Sam Threadgill
Director

P.S. Thousands of primates are currently locked up in private collections throughout the UK. Please donate towards our urgent campaign costs to make sure no more primates are born into such a life of deprivation. ([link removed])
