Walking and Cycling

If you need to make a journey we encourage you to walk or cycle where possible. This will allow you to practise social distancing while you travel and minimise contact with others, helping to stop the spread of Covid-19.

Castle Boulevard cycle path

From Monday 23 November to Friday 27 November, the section of cycle path outside the new student accommodation development on Castle Boulevard will be closed for resurfacing works. Cyclists, please use the footway for this section of cycle path.

Love2Ride Winter Wheelers

Take part in Love2Ride's Winter Wheelers cycling advent calendar for grown-ups by registering on Love2Ride's website and tracking all your rides throughout December. There's some fantastic prizes up for grabs so don't miss out!

Thank you to all of our public transport users who are continuing to follow travel safety guidance. Every journey matters in helping to stop the spread so please keep up the good efforts. Travel smart to travel safe.

  • It is essential you wear a face covering for the entirety of your journey if using public transport
  • Plan ahead and avoid travelling at peak times and on busy routes if you can
  • Keep your distance from others as best you can. If your usual journey looks busy and overcrowded, consider alternative transport options
  • Travel overseas or within the UK is prohibited, unless for work, education or other legally permitted reasons
  • Always wash your hands before/after travelling and use available sanitising points

🚍Bus updates

  • From Monday 23 November, the Monday to Saturday evening frequency on NCT Pink 28, Orange 36 and Turquoise 77 will temporarily change. For more information on timetables visit their website.
  • From Monday 23 November, morning and afternoon journeys on the L2 will serve Bilborough College site. The basis L2 route and timetable will not change.
  • NCT have announced their Christmas and New Year service schedule and travel centre opening hours. For more information visit their website.

Monday 7 September - Wednesday 28 July 2021: Cobden Street (Lenton)
Suspension of parking along Cobden Street to Stanfield Street junction on both sides due to demolition and redevelopment of old martial arts centre.

Thursday 29 October - Wednesday 30 June 2021: Western Boulevard (Whitemoor)
Various lane closures at the junction with Nuthall Road due to traffic signal installations and improvements, crossing and footway widenings, and resurfacing works.

Wednesday 18 November - Saturday 24 November: Johnson Road (Lenton)
Parking bay suspension outside the medical centre due to excavation for road crossing and new electrical connections.

Saturday 21 November - Sunday 22 November: Sheriffs Way (city centre)
Lane closure between Arkwright Street and Crocus Street due to highway works for the Unity Square development.

Sunday 22 November: Milton Street (city centre)
Lane closure on Milton Street outside the Victoria Centre and three way signals at the junction with Lower Parliament Street for signage works.

Sunday 22 November: Valley Road (Basford)
Road closure eastbound from Ventnor Rise to Hucknall Road due to the installation of a telecoms pole and cabinet.

Monday 23 November - Friday 27 November: Castle Boulevard (city centre)
Two way signals opposite no.2-64 Park Rock due to the reinstatement of kerbs to Castle Boulevard and the cyclepath.


Highways England Clifton Bridge repairs

Highways England is continuing to carry out works to repair and strengthen the A52 Clifton Bridge.
