1. NS JOURNAL: Newby wins Chief Justice race as recount set to begin
"Associate Justice Paul Newby won the closest race in the state as counties finished canvassing votes on Tuesday, defeating incumbent Chief Justice Cheri Beasley by just under 400 votes.
The contest will, however, go to a statewide recount in the coming days.
A win for Newby, who has served on the N.C. Supreme Court since 2004, would give Republicans a sweep of every statewide judicial race in the 2020 general election."

2. NS JOURNAL: EXCLUSIVE: Mark Robinson discusses Lt. Gov. race win, plans for term
“Mark Robinson, North Carolina’s Republican lieutenant governor-elect, won big on Election Day, with 2,799,018 votes. The vote total is more than other top-of-the-ticket Republicans, like Donald Trump (with 2,756,899 votes), Thom Tillis (with 2,664,001) or Dan Forest (with 2,585,114 votes), received from Tar Heel voters. But Robinson is careful not to fault his fellow Republicans, saying they had to overcome fallout from the coronavirus and had longer political records to defend.
In a Nov. 16 interview with North State Journal, Robinson also said the strong numbers were because he is an “outsider,” adding, “It’s what people are looking for these days. People are looking for fresh faces and new voices.”

3. CHRISTIAN POST: Biden planning to reverse Trump’s pro-life police by executive order
“Former vice president Joe Biden has vowed to roll back a number of President Donald Trump’s executive orders and dismantle the administration’s pro-life policies should he take office next year.
While the official results of the 2020 presidential election remain uncertain, Biden has been declared the winner by several media outlets. His team has already unveiled <[link removed]> a “Biden administration agenda,” which includes a section on “early executive actions.” The former vice president’s agenda would reverse some of the Trump administration’s pro-life initiatives.
According to the document, Biden would “reverse Trump actions on abortion and reproductive health care, including reversing the Mexico City Policy, restoring funding to Planned Parenthood and contraceptive coverage under the ACA.” The Mexico City Policy <[link removed]>, first signed into law by President Ronald Reagan, requires foreign nongovernmental organizations to promise not to “perform or actively promote abortion as a method of family planning” using U.S. taxpayer dollars.”

4. GEORGIA: Volunteer Opportunities
It’s no exaggeration to say that the Georgia Runoff Elections might be the most important special election in modern American history. The party that wins the election will control the US Senate. And if Republicans are defeated, Chuck Schumer and the Democrats have absolute power in Washington.
The only thing standing in their way is the grassroots volunteers in the conservative movement. That is we are asking every member of our coalition to chip in or volunteer to ensure that does not happen.
Volunteer To Make Calls From Your Home. NC Values will hold a short webinar training session tomorrow evening, Thursday, November 19th, at 7pm and again on Monday evening, November 23rd at 7pm. You can make calls from home with an easy-to-use app to encourage our neighbors in Georgia to vote. Sign-up <[link removed]> to attend training and receive more information.
Travel to Georgia 12/9 – 12/13 with the Susan B Anthony List. Join a team of canvassers in Georgia to go door-to-door to drop information and contact voters in metro Atlanta. All expenses are covered plus earn $500 for the holidays on this short trip. (Great for College Students!) Departs on Wednesday afternoon and return Sunday evening. Sign-up <[link removed]> to receive more details.
Join NC Faith & Freedom Coalition teams working in Georgia. Teams will be dropping voter guides door-to-door across Georgia. They are hiring full-time canvassers to work from now through Election Day. Earn $10/hour if you can commit to a minimum of two weeks or more. (No work on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.) Apply for the seasonal job <[link removed]> here.
Since a two-week commitment is likely too much for most in our coalition, we are also deploying volunteer teams from NC Values Coalition to work with Faith & Freedom in Georgia. We plan to send a team over the weekend of December 4-6th, the week between Christmas and New Years' (December 28th -31st), and again the weekend right before the election (January 2-4th). NC Faith & Freedom will provide accommodations and training. Sign-up <[link removed]> for details on volunteering a weekend in Georgia.

5. JOHN LOCKE: Businesses are closing forever as Cooper plays favorites
“Back in September, a survey of Raleigh businesses conducted by Shop Local Raleigh found that 60 percent of small businesses in Raleigh were threatened with closure <[link removed]>. That same month Lynn Minges, president of the NC Restaurant and Lodging Association, warned of a “closing tsunami” in the restaurant industry <[link removed]>, also projecting ‘as many as 60% [of restaurants] say that they likely won’t survive another six months if relief doesn’t come fairly quickly.’
Those numbers are backed by a September 2020 report from Yelp, a platform-based company that provides information and consumer reviews about local businesses. Yelp found that over 60 percent of businesses that have closed since March will not reopen <[link removed]>, and that restaurants and retail are hardest hit.
Yelp listed North Carolina businesses among the hardest hit in the nation.”

WEEKLY PRAYER: LIBERTY
LORD, you have blessed us with a spiritual liberty that is so wonderful and beyond description, that it can only be understood through experiencing a life-giving relationship with Christ. However, we also recognize that in your grace, you have blessed our country with a political liberty that enables us to openly proclaim the experience of a life lived in the freedom of the Gospel.
LORD, as individuals and as a nation, may we never take the inalienable right of religious freedom for granted. Right now our country has faced a rapid increase in the number of attacks made against this cherished right. We have seen groups across our public arena increase in boldness and frequency their smears against religious liberty. They claim it is bigotry, when we know it is the security of the greatest of all possible loves.
Be with your people and our country as it continues to protect the constitutional right protected by our nation's Founders. Be with legislators and the Supreme Court, as they determine through their actions the protection of this particular and fundamental freedom.
“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery." (Galatians 5:1)
"For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." (Galatians 5:13)
"Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God." (1 Peter 2:16)
Amen
