Subheader: Major Arctic drilling attack! All hands on deck:? ? ? ? Friend ? this is an all-hands-on-deck moment. The League of Conservation Voters JUST learned that the Trump administration is moving to open nearly 2,500 miles of Arctic Refuge coastline to drilling.

This could amount to a total loss of the Arctic Refuge's Coastal Plain.

The Trump administration's environmental impact statement for drilling just came out. In order to force the plan through, it blatantly ignores or understates every type of impact that drilling could have on the Arctic Refuge, including any probability of oil spills. The Coastal Plain is sacred to the Gwich'in people and central to their way of life. Opening the Arctic Refuge to Big Polluters would be yet another example of the Trump administration disregarding indigenous rights to give a handout to Big Polluters.

We need your help ? we can prevent these drilling operations, but we need to push Congress to act quickly. That means mounting a major pressure campaign in the coming weeks. A donor has agreed to TRIPLE MATCH every contribution to this campaign until September 30th ? we're turning to our members to pull this off.

Time is short and there's a small window available to make an impact. Please, please, please take a moment right now and make a donation to the League of Conservation Voters. Even $5 will help ? [link removed]

There's even more dire news: buried in the Interior Department's plan to allow drilling in the Arctic Refuge is an explicit admission that oil and gas development may lead to more extinctions in the remote areas of Alaska.

The report states that 69 of the 157 bird species found in the area would be at particular risk. Hell, it opens up 100 percent of the Arctic Refuge Coastal Plain's polar bear denning habitat to drilling.

LCV is smack in the middle of this fight and our public lands teams are working in solidarity with the Gwich'in people to stop this unprecedented polluter giveaway. And there's only one sure-fire way to put an end to this land grab: block it in Congress.

We can get it done ? we just won a vote in the House to restore protections for the Arctic Refuge, and there are many swing senators who support public lands who are appalled by this plan.

To get the votes we need to stop this atrocity, we need to flood the Senate with calls, letters, and LCV members. To get all this done will put a significant strain on our already taxed budget. Can you help? We know you opposed drilling in the Arctic Refuge, so we hope you'll rush an emergency donation to the League of Conservation Voters today. Even $5 can make a difference. LCV has a history of stopping the most egregious of Trump's attacks, but we've only been successful when our members get involved in the fight. So far we've activated more than 49,000 members to protect the Arctic Refuge, but we need tens of thousands more to contact their Member of Congress.

At a time when we are battling a host of attacks by the Trump administration ? from rollbacks of clean car standards to his ridiculous attacks on energy-efficient light bulbs ? we're stretched thin. We need you in these fights! Please donate today ? [link removed]
