** CDC Issues Thanksgiving Recommendation

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today recommended against traveling or gathering for the holiday, urging Americans to consider celebrating in their own households instead. In the agency’s first news briefing in months, officials said they were alarmed to see 1 million new cases reported across the United States within the past week, as the
Washington Post reports ([link removed]) .


** Restrictions Working In Europe
------------------------------------------------------------
In a rare hopeful sign amid the grinding slog through a pandemic that has claimed more than 1.3 million lives across the globe, Europe’s new restrictions appear to be slowing the spread of the coronavirus in some of the worst-hit countries. The World Health Organization said today that new case rates were falling for the first time in months across the region by about 10 percent, as the

** Mnuchin Declines to Extend Several Fed Emergency Lending Programs

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin declined to extend several emergency loan programs established jointly with the Federal Reserve that are set to expire on December 31. The Fed’s corporate credit, municipal lending, and Main Street Lending programs won’t be renewed, Mnuchin said today, as the
