Dear John,

We find ourselves once again entering the holiday season, with Thanksgiving around the corner and the snowy days coming up fast. This year, we may not be able to travel as freely or get together with our loved ones as easily, but what hasn’t changed is how important a part you are to ensuring each homeless animal has a warm place to sleep this winter. And so, the Holiday Giving season begins.

So many animals rely on your kindness, like Orrin (shown above), who arrived at PAWS with a leg so painful he was unable to walk. He and his six puppy siblings all needed medical care, love, and time to heal. Your generosity supports the lifesaving programs that were able to provide everything these sweet animals needed to thrive and now Orrin is in a home of his own.

Every pet deserves love, comfort, and a home, and the cold Chicago winter makes their needs even more urgent. Please don’t let these loving animals spend another holiday alone. Help them find the peace and comfort they deserve by donating today. Remember, when You Give, They Live.

** Clinic Volunteers Wanted
------------------------------------------------------------

Volunteers touch every part of our operations, including supporting our prevention efforts at the Lurie Spay/Neuter Clinic. In 2019, the Lurie Clinic performed more than 15,000 low cost spay/neuter surgeries.

Clinic volunteers work alongside our veterinarians and technicians to ensure our Clinic performs vital spay/neuter surgeries, communicate with the public to create a smooth experience at the Clinic, and work behind the scenes helping animals feel comfortable post-surgery.

To get started, sign up for a virtual volunteer orientation today!

** Adoption Snapshot
------------------------------------------------------------

When we saw this adoption picture, we just knew we had to share it with you. Whether it’s recently adopted Rook’s pose or the pure joy in his new dad’s eyes, something makes it a little extra special. Chris, the volunteer who grabbed this priceless snapshot, said “Pretty much the most adorable adoption photo I’ve ever taken. Six-month-old Rook likes to flip himself over in your arms so you can rock him like a baby. And look at his new dad’s smiling eyes." Happy life, Rook!

** Senior Pup Finally Finds A Family
------------------------------------------------------------

It’s the feel-good story we could all use: Brody, our 10-year-old former farm dog, has found a home after more than 700 days at PAWS! As you can expect, he’s been through a lot in his life. It turned for the better when he came to PAWS. He’s spent time in foster homes, celebrated two birthdays, and received all the care that goes into keeping a senior dog (with some behavior challenges) happy and healthy. And just last week, we got to be part of his sweetest experience of all – going home as a foster fail.
